An Antique Diamond Bracelet

This beautiful antique bracelet with scroll motifs was once a love token from Prince Bira of Siam to his first wife and true love, Ceril Heycock. Ceril, the sister of Prince Bira’s classmate in art school, was only 17 years old when she married Prince Bira, a sculptor, olympic sailor, and the very first Asian Formula One racecar driver. The couple lived a glamorous life filled with travel, adventure and interesting luminaries. Their romance was later immortalized by the Princess in her autobiography, “The Prince and I”. Set with old European cut diamonds, for a total weight of 10.00 carats, and mounted in silver and 18K yellow gold, circa 1890. Provenance: formerly in the collection of Princess Ceril Birabongse of Siam (accompanied by a letter copy).
